Volunteering
The Friends of Eastfield Park are always looking for volunteers willing to carry out work in the Park.
Volunteer Days
Members are informed about Volunteer Days by email, and the days are also advertised in advance on Facebook. Any adult can join in these simply by turning up on the day and signing in. Children can often join in but they must be accompanied by a responsible adult who decides which tasks are appropriate for them. Leaders of work should be familiar with the FoEP's Volunteer Activities Policy and all volunteers must have read the Health & Safety information provided before signing in. All work in the park must have been agreed with an appropriate person from WNC or idverde.
'Special Activities' These are activities carried out by small groups, usually of two to four volunteers, by arrangement between them. Participants need to sign up for the work a few days in advance so members of the group can be contacted if plans have to change. As with all work, only permitted activities can be carried out and health and safety procedures must be followed.

Litter Picking The exception to the rule about working in groups is litter picking. This may be carried out by individuals (or groups) while walking in the park.
Collected litter should be taken home and disposed of in your own waste stream. As a special concession, we are allowed to place litter in Veolia sacks and leave it by the waste bin at the Skiddaw walk entrance to the park. This concession could be extended or withdrawn at any time.
If litter picking in the park, please follow our Health & Safety guidelines:
